What is GITI SHIELD+ PROGRAM
Giti Shield+ Program is a comprehensive package of all available warranties. Eligible tires are covered by the Road Hazard Warranty within 6 months from the date of purchase or ≧5mm remaining tread depth, whichever comes first.
TERMS & CONDITIONS
(THE GITI SHIELD+ PROGRAM IS A COMPREHENSIVE PACKAGE OF LIMITED WARRANTIES AND SERVICES OFFERED TO GITI* END CONSUMER** “YOU/YOUR”). PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE TERMS AND CONDITIONS CAREFULLY. GITI TIRE MAY REVISE THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS FROM TIME TO TIME.
1. GITI SHIELD+ PROGRAM
The Giti Shield+ Program covers Giti brand passenger, SUV, and 4x4 tires that are: - (a) newly purchased tires of the Giti; (b) operated in normal service (i.e., for its manufactured purpose); (c) purchased from participating SpeedBiz workshop; (d) Giti brand tire of 14’’ and above.
Road Hazard Warranty: Warranty against unrepairable road hazard damages such as impact and/or cut damage (tread, shoulder, and/or sidewall), and/or penetration by sharp thin object, and/or damage through deep cuts (moisture-oxidation).
2. ELIGIBILITY
This Giti Shield+ Program applies to any new Giti brand tires produced by the manufacturer that bears the corresponding Tire Identification Number and sold by authorized SpeedBiz workshop.
A minimum of two (2) tyres must be purchased in a single receipt to be eligible for Giti Shield+ Program.
Any tires adjusted under this Giti Shield+ Program, will be replaced at no charge within 6 months under Road Hazard Warranty. After 6 months, free tires change will only be eligible for manufacturer warranty which: if the tire is reported during the first 1.6 mm of the original tread depth due to a substantiated defect in materials and/or workmanship.
After the first 1.6 mm of the original usable tread and for the remainder of the warranty Period, any warranty claim processed due to a substantiated defect in materials and/or workmanship will be adjusted on a prorated basis until the tread is worn down to 1.6 mm of tread depth remaining.
The eligible tire shall be operated under a normal service and used on the same vehicle on which they were originally installed according to the vehicle manufacturer's recommendations. The warranty period for tube and flap is 2 (two) years counted from the date of manufacturing.
3. REGISTRATION
Each tire must be registered for the Giti Shield+ Program within seven (7) days from the date of purchase. Registration after the 7-days’ period will not be accepted***.
The registration should be completed by either the participating workshop or you and should include all mandatory information. Mandatory requirements include: purchased information, invoice, customer contact information, vehicle information, D.O.T number, and barcode. Tire registration is currently only available on the SpeedBiz application.
Important: All participating SpeedBiz workshops are independent contractors and not agents/ employees of Giti. Giti assumes no liability for any damage to your vehicle resulting from the rendering of service or for personal items left in the vehicle. Any claims for personal injury or damage to the property must be submitted to the workshops directly.
By providing your personal data and submitting the same, you shall be deemed to be giving consent to the collection, storage, and/or processing of your personal data pursuant to the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 and any other data protection regulations/legislations.
4. COVERAGE
Other than the excluded conditions listed in Section 5, the Giti Shield+ Program covers unrepairable tire damage within six (6) months from the date of purchase or minimum 5mm of tread remaining (whichever comes first) - you may exchange the affected tire(s) for new Giti brand tires of same dimension and pattern, from the participating SpeedBiz workshop. However, if there is no stock available, you may instead be offered comparable**** new Giti brand tires.
The Giti Shield+ Program coverage is limited only to the first set of newly purchased tires and NOT on the replaced tires.
Applicable taxes, the cost of mounting, balancing and others service charges shall be borne by you.
You are required to pay for any/all price difference if the replacement tires are an upgrade to the originally fitted tires.
You must present the claim tire to the authorized SpeedBiz workshop;
There is NO mileage limit within this warranty.
Evidence of tires:
Giti requires the workshop to provide or upload evidence that the tire(s) have been taken out of service once they are removed from the vehicle. This evidence includes: (a) whole tire; (b) D.O.T. serial number; (c) remaining tread depth; (d) damaged areas of tires
5. WHAT IS NOT COVERED BY THE GITI SHIELD+ PROGRAM
Damage caused by all kind of abrasion road hazard which does not cause unrepairable structural damage.
Any wear caused by improper application and non-recommended balancing and alignments.
All types of repairable damages (penetration damage – A tire is considered unrepairable if the size of the puncture diameter is more than or equal to 6 mm, or puncture area is at the sidewall and/or shoulder of the tire. Puncture repairs are limited to the center of the tread area.
Improper tires inflation and/or improper load/speed practices.
Improper mounting and demounting
Improper tire maintenance such as balancing, rotation and inflation
The tires serial number buffed or cut; damaged through use of any tube or flap
Alteration (such as but not limited to):
- Thread grooving
- Tire truing or siping
- Adding sealant other than the original sealant supplied by tire manufacturer to the tire.
- Tires have been repaired or retreaded
The replacement of accessories and adjustments items.
Defects or damage in existence prior to the commencement of the policy
Any incidental and consequential damage such as telephone calls, towing, car rental charges, hotel charges, loss of time, commercial loss.
Spare tires
Improper stud size and/or installation.
Other Exclusions or Damages due to:
- Rim irregularities and rim damage
- Vehicle mechanical failure include brake problems, etc
- Negligent and abusive driving such as tire spinning
- Improper tire storage.
- Vehicle collision accident, flood, fire, chemical corrosion, tire alteration or vandalism
- The addition of liquid, solid or gaseous materials other than air, nitrogen or carbon dioxide (for example, water-based sealers or balancing substances)
- Overloading, racing, competition, modifications of any sort
- Any other damages due to any non-conforming with manufacture's specification or instruction
Commercial service*****
Original Equipment (OE) tires.
Out of warranty tires.
6. GITI’S OBLIGATIONS
Giti will honour warranty claims that meet the guidelines outlined in this Terms and Conditions. All warranty claims will be assessed by Giti’s Technical Quality Assurance team, and final decisions will be made by this team. Tire replacement will be made by participating SpeedBiz workshop.
7. WARRANTY CLAIM
To make an eligible claim under Giti Shield+ Program, you must present a claim with the warranty card and the tire to participating SpeedBiz workshop.
Any case filed by either you or the participating SpeedBiz workshop, is considered complete only after participating SpeedBiz workshop diagnosed the physical affected tire and submitted all supporting tire evidence (refer to section 4).
8. GENERAL
This warranty only applies in Malaysia, subject to Malaysian law and Malaysian Court jurisdiction.
Giti reserves the right to the final inspection decision on conditions for all tires returned within the warranty program. The Giti Shield+ Program is not a warranty that tire failures will not happen or that they will not become unserviceable if neglected or mistreated.
* End consumer means the purchaser of the Giti brand tire(s) from the participating SpeedBiz workshop.
**Giti means GITI TIRE (MALAYSIA) SDN. BHD. (1149901K).
***The tire bead barcode will be covered by the rim once mounted. Hence, it is strongly encouraged that you register the tire at the location of the workshop itself before the tire is mounted or alternatively take a photo of the tire bead barcode should you intend to register later (but subject to the 7-days period under section 3 above).
****A “comparable” new Giti brand tire may be of either the same tire line or the same basic construction but with a different sidewall or tread configuration. The Giti Shield+ Program covers tires of equal or lesser value. If the end consumer accepts a higher priced tire, the end consumer is responsible for covering any difference in price.
***** Commercial service means company registered vehicles, e-hailing service, taxis, police cars, emergency vehicles, non-passenger service vehicles, are not eligible for Giti Shield+ Program. Tire(s) on any vehicle registered and operated outside Malaysia are excluded from eligibility under Giti Shield+ Program.
